Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Develop, configure, and validate supervision and control systems using the SAGE SCADA platform (CEPEL), ensuring compliance with project technical and operational requirements.
2. Perform integration, commissioning, and technical support activities for SCADA systems in the electric power industry, both in factory and field environments, ensuring the reliability and performance of implemented solutions.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to SCADA systems, communication networks, databases, and associated infrastructure.
4. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
5. Understand, create solutions, and promote the simplification of processes and activities.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Technical degree in Automation, Electrical Technology, Systems Development, or a related field.
• Experience with the SAGE SCADA system.
• Knowledge of communication protocols, including MMS (IEC 61850), DNP3, IEC 60870-5-101, IEC 60870-5-104, Modbus, and SNMP.
• Knowledge of Linux distributions, including CentOS and Rocky Linux.
• Knowledge of database platforms, including PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Basic knowledge of electric power systems.
• Knowledge of network topologies.
• Experience configuring managed network switches.
• Knowledge of network redundancy protocols, including RSTP, PRP, and HSR.
• Availability to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical documentation.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
