Driver Operator - Road Maintenance - Kaitaia
Fulton Hogan Limited · Kaitaia, New Zealand
About The Role
Mō te tūranga | About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Driver Operator to join our Far North team, based in Kaitaia. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating plant and machinery, and being part of a crew that keeps roading networks safe and moving.
You’ll work across roading projects involving chip seal, asphalt, gravel and other surfacing materials, using a range of plant and equipment to help deliver quality road maintenance and construction outcomes. From preparing and repairing road surfaces to operating earthmoving machinery and supporting sealing works, this is a varied role where no two days look the same.
You must bring strong machinery operating experience, mechanical know-how, experience in pavement and traffic services maintenance, and a practical approach to problem-solving. You’ll also need to be comfortable pitching in with manual work, supporting the wider team on site, and stepping up to help less experienced workers when needed.
Because this team supports incident response and network needs, you must be able to take part in an after-hours on-call roster and respond when required.
