Senior Associate - Financial Reporting

About The Role

Primary Responsibilities

  • Report to the Group Financial Reporting Manager.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal team members.
  • Prepare client-specific reporting as and when required.
  • Prepare regulatory reporting, such as Management Accounts, draft financial statements and audited financial statements and/or financial reporting packages as required.
  • Adapt to and execute changes to regulatory requirements related to your job description.
  • Prioritize tasks and assignments to meet deadlines and escalate concerns to direct manager.
  • Gain familiarity and competence with departmental and team procedures and applicable systems.
  • Monitor team inbox for client queries and identify appropriate responsible party.
  • Ensure that client needs are addressed and resolved in a complete and timely manner, initiate corrective action when service levels fall short of standard.
  • Liaison with auditors where applicable.
  • Assist operations team where required.
  • Assist the Head of Operation, Group Managers and Senior Management with policy development and implementation and maintenance of SOC I internal controls.
  • Commitment to high level of client service.
  • Any other cognate duties relating to the proper service of client companies and other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Operations / Group Manager.

Qualifications / Skills Required

  • 4-5+ years’ working experience in similar industry, primarily involvement of financial statements (and audited) preparation + experience in audit and exposure to diverse types of fund structures, VCCs, PCCs and SPC’s, Group FS & consolidation will be a definite advantage.
  • Partly qualified accountant – at least level 2 fully completed.
  • Passionate about financial markets and reporting.
  • Exposure to any Fund accounting software.
  • Good knowledge of IFRS and willingness to gain working knowledge of other GAAPs such as UK GAAP, US GAAP, Lux GAAP and SFRS.
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills and adaptability to a challenging environment
  • Maintain good working relationships and open dialogue with other department heads. Assisting your colleagues in the best interest of the Group.
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel and MS Word, previous experience in any fund accounting software will be an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
