Wood is currently recruiting for a Instrument Supervisor to join the team for an immediate start, supporting construction activities on a major EPCM project for a key client project in Chonburi, Thailand . This role is offered as an initial 7-month contract with the opportunity to continue as an ongoing, longer-term assignment and available for Thai National.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, your immediate focus will be supporting the supporting construction activities on a major EPCM project for a key client. You will bring to life Woods' three-pillar strategy of Inspired Culture, Delivery Excellence and Profitable Growth on the project. Leading by example, you will consistently display and enforce Wood values and behaviour and commitment to the highest standards of safe and ethical behaviour to ensure safe, reliable operations and client satisfaction.

You will thrive on the challenge of balancing technical, team, client, and project leadership in this key site-based role with your focus on relationships and delivery, enabling you to anticipate project needs beyond the immediate scope. You will drive technical excellence and assurance on the painting and insulation portion while working in close partnership with other disciplines and the client, to enable robust technical decisions that ultimately add value to the client and project.

In addition, you will

  • Ensure that all C&I construction contractors, supervisors, and personnel are instructed on and comply with all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment, and Security (HSES) policies, site regulations, permit-to-work procedures, site instructions, and client requirements
  • Ensure that C&I construction contractors working within the discipline strictly adhere to the latest Approved for Construction (AFC) drawings, specifications, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), procedures, and site instructions
  • Be responsible for the HSES and quality aspects of work within assigned areas, ensuring that construction contractors complete their work in accordance with the project schedule
  • Review and monitor the availability of drawings, specifications, work instructions, material deliveries, and tools relevant to the assigned discipline and work area
  • In conjunction with contractors' supervisors, planning engineers, and the Construction Engineer, develop detailed daily and weekly work plans in line with the overall project schedule
  • Inform the Discipline Superintendent of areas where the project schedule requires adjustment due to site conditions, material deliveries, or other project constraints
  • Monitor contractor personnel discipline and timekeeping within the assigned work area, identify any disciplinary issues, and report them to the relevant Discipline Superintendent
  • Provide proactive support to the project team on assigned project activities as required
  • Vocational Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working on live plant, greenfield, and turnaround/revamp projects within the oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, power generation, or similar process industries
  • Proven track record of managing Instrumentation Construction activities within refinery and petrochemical environments
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Significant experience supervising contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and effective construction execution
