Research experience from undergraduate work or industry is preferred.

Additional duties/responsibilities
- Plan and conduct experiments in collaboration with biology staff
- Design and fabricate novel microfluidic devices
- Summarize data, interpret results, and format data for reporting via presentation or publication
- Support lab organization and maintenance, such as sourcing and preparation of reagents and materials, and calibration/maintenance of instrumentation
- Troubleshoot experimental issues
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant laboratory research experience from academia or industry is strongly preferred
- Experience working with microfluidic devices and supporting hardware
- Working knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermal transport, and electric circuit theory
- Experience in any of the following is desirable: laboratory automation (e.g., Labview, Arduino, Python), electrical measurements, computational modeling (e.g., COMSOL), 3D CAD (e.g., Solidworks), microscopy, machining processes (e.g., laser machining, milling, and lamination), microfabrication processes (e.g., metal deposition), and statistical analysis
- Experience with cell culture and/or tissue engineering
- Experience with analytical techniques in biology, such as cellular assays or flow cytometry
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with engineers, management, and other stakeholders across all relevant disciplines are required
- Flexibility to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities and technologies
Job Description
Duties/Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of innovative bioengineering solutions under minimal guidance of program leadership.
- Collaborate on interdisciplinary teams to conduct research and communicate findings with minimal guidance.
- Contribute to multiple Bioengineering projects with appropriate guidance.
- Proactively identify needs and concerns associated with design decisions and communicate them to program leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requires either a Bachelor's Degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Cell Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics or related fields. Master's degree preferred.
Experience
Requires 3-5 years of Bioengineering or related engineering experience.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is
$75,000.00 - $156,000.00 Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Union ranges will be in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement's approved rates by location and role.
