Senior BIM Technician - Mining

About The Role

  • You will be working and supporting a range of infrastructure schemes to independently develop engineering BIM models and drawings under the relevant standards.
  • You will be expected to play a proactive part in the BIM design process and be active on several projects at any given time.
  • You will be contributing to all types of projects.
  • You will be using Revit, ACC, Civil 3D, AutoCAD and other engineering BIM software for the production and development of models and drawings.
  • You will read and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures for Health and Safety including the H&S Policy, H&S Manual, and Local Procedures Manual
  • You will take responsibility for your own personal development with the support of the line manager and follow an agreed development plan.
  • You will assist in the development of others in the team.

Key Competencies / Skills

  • Ability to utilise Revit, ACC, Civil 3D, AutoCAD in adherence to defined CAD & BIM standards to develop 3D modelling, layouts, labelling, dimensioning, sheet layout, design details and other appropriate design concepts.
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models to assist with investigations of engineering problems.
  • Proven ability to work up drawings (plans, sections & details) from Engineers basic sketches to full working drawings.
  • Ability to liaise with the design teams both in GCC and UK as necessary to coordinate design and drawing production.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and managing multiple projects with the ability to accurately predict the time required to fulfil the individual scopes of work required.
  • Undertake reviews of work produced by others to ensure high quality of CAD output.
  • UK / International project experience and working knowledge of UK/International design standards.
  • You should be able to demonstrate some experience and working knowledge of relevant technical design guidance and standards, such as BIM workflow, ISO 19650 etc.,
  • Perform clash detection.
  • You should be able to understand, implement and communicate BIM and CAD standards for use on Civil engineering projects and possessing an appropriate overall level of knowledge of the UK / International infrastructure design sector.
  • Experience in supervising and coordinating the CAD/BIM output of others within a multidisciplinary project environment.
  • Commitment to work as part of a design team focused on project delivery.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of Multi-Discipline Projects
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

  • At least one key area such as Diploma/Engineering in Civil Engineering with 6-10 years relevant work experience in Autodesk BIM Software's.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Revit, ACC, Civil 3D, AutoCAD.
  • Good working knowledge of the relevant Civil & Structural Engineering discipline.
