Required Qualifications

  • -
  • CPA strongly preferred; candidates without an active CPA must bring equivalent depth of technical accounting and audit experience
  • -
  • Public company experience, public accounting audit experience, or both. You know what a PCAOB audit demands and what public company reporting requires, because you have lived it
  • -
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of a monthly close
  • -
  • Strong command of US GAAP, including experience researching and documenting technical accounting positions
  • -
  • Experience operating in a lean environment where you are both the strategist and the person doing the work

  • High attention to detail with a bias toward simple, correct, defensible output
  • -
  • Direct, clear communicator who is comfortable working with auditors, executives, and cross functional teams

Preferred / Nice-to-Haves

  • -
  • Experience taking a company through an IPO, deSPAC, or other transition to public company reporting
  • -
  • Hardware, manufacturing, or automotive industry experience, including cost accounting and inventory
  • -
  • ERP implementation experience, especially NetSuite
  • -
  • Familiarity with equity administration platforms (e.g. Carta) and modern spend management tools (e.g. Ramp)
  • -
  • Experience managing outsourced accounting relationships

Other Requirements

-

While we appreciate the importance of schedule flexibility, it’s essential to note that the nature of this role necessitates a regular and consistent onsite presence

-

Some travel may be required to support audit, banking, and transaction related activities

-

In your first 6 to 9 months, success would include a repeatable monthly close with audit ready documentation, a PCAOB audit that is on track or complete for the required historical periods, and meaningful progress on the ERP implementation. This role has a clear growth path as the finance organization scales with the company.
