About The Role

NOV India Private Limited is looking for a Field Service Engineer to support NOV M/D Totco product Line. The incumbent will work in various Offshore and Onshore jobs across India along with workshop jobs.

Key Responsibilities

Field Service & Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, repair, calibration, and functional testing of NOV M/D Totco equipment at customer locations.
  • Support offshore and onshore drilling operations by providing technical service and troubleshooting.
  • Carry out workshop activities including equipment inspection, servicing, testing, and calibration.
  • Prepare calibration certificates, service reports, maintenance records, and inspection documentation.
  • Maintain hardware, software, communication systems, and network-connected equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment failures while ensuring minimum downtime.
  • Coordinate project planning and execution for field service activities.
  • Ensure equipment readiness before mobilization to customer locations.

Drilling Operations

  • Monitor real-time drilling parameters and identify operational abnormalities using predefined alarm thresholds.
  • Develop and monitor hydraulics solutions to optimize drilling fluid performance and wellbore cleaning.
  • Create and analyze Torque & Drag (T&D) models to identify drilling limitations and mitigate operational risks.
  • Provide operational recommendations based on drilling trends and performance analysis.

Customer & Technical Support

  • Provide technical support to customers during installation, maintenance, and operational activities.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering, service, and regional teams for technical issues and spare parts support.
  • Assist customers with troubleshooting and operational best practices.
  • Support quotation activities for calibration, repairs, and replacement equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements and company quality standards.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Follow company HSE policies and industry-standard safety procedures during workshop and field operations.
  • Ensure compliance with customer safety requirements during offshore and onshore assignments.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all maintenance, calibration, and operational activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
  • Higher qualification or relevant certifications will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in drilling operations, drilling data analytics, field service, equipment maintenance, or oil & gas operations.
  • Experience in offshore drilling operations is preferred.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of drilling engineering concepts and rig operations.
  • Experience with drilling data acquisition and visualization platforms.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics modelling and Torque & Drag analysis.
  • Experience with maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of drilling instrumentation.
  • Good understanding of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and networking systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Hindi is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently in offshore, onshore, and workshop environments.
  • Strong teamwork, customer service, and project coordination skills.

Working Conditions

  • Frequent travel to offshore and onshore drilling locations across India.
  • Workshop-based maintenance and equipment preparation activities.
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts and support emergency service requirements.
  • Ability to work under pressure in demanding operational environments.
