- including Ice Rink, Sports Complex, Recreational Farming, Playground, Industrial, Trailer, Home
- Fitness, Truck & Trailer, Equine, Beef and Dairy.
- Today, North West Rubber is one of the largest rubber mat manufacturers in the world. We
- own and operate manufacturing facilities in Canada (British Columbia, Ontario, & Quebec), in
- the USA (Texas), and in China.
- We are actively recruiting for a Plant Manager for our Houston, Texas facility.
Key Responsibilities
The Plant Manager is responsible for the safe manufacturing of high-quality recycled rubber products in an efficient, productive and cost effective manner while being highly customer service oriented internally and externally. The Plant Manager also provides leadership, coaching and development to his/her direct reports (Production, Maintenance & Administration) to promote the NWR core values and support the achievement of the company objectives. The Plant Manager plays a key role in defining and exemplifying the performance culture of the plant and inspiring all plant employees in the achievement of greater results.
Key Result Areas
- Safety: Achieve a 0 Lost Time Incident rate, improve safety culture, and reduce risk score
- Quality: Achieve > 94% 1st grade mat quality
- Service: Achieve > 98% On-time shipments and > 98% Complete shipments and
Qualifications & Experience Required
- Minimum of 8 years in plant or manufacturing operations management, combined with at least 3 years of maintenance experience either as Maintenance Manager or as an individual contributor
- Degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial, process) required
- Demonstrated capability in leading teams, performance management, and building an inclusive, safety-focused workplace culture.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards, quality control practices, and regulatory compliance within an industrial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to use data analysis to track, monitor and improve operational performance.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Experience in rubber, plastics, or related manufacturing sectors is an asset, along with familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to travel internationally is required
