About The Role
Welding Supervisor
Essential Functions of the Position
- Use of appropriate PPE at all times and encourage everyone to do so.
- Comply with all safety regulations.
- "Report unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
- Follow up on reported unsafe conditions until they are resolved. Escalate when needed."
- Discuss safety issues and recommendations with team members
- Create the schedules for the TL and Techs. (Quality/Welding)
- Support the Weld Engineers/Quality Engineers when they need it.
- Manage Kronos system to all related to schedule, over time, vacations of the Team Leaders and Techs. (Quality/Welding)
- Audit PM & OMC and provide feedback when needed.
- "Train and Develop training plan for Welders, Weld Techs and Welding Specialists.
- Train and Develop training plan for Quality, Quality Techs and Quality Specialists.
- Responsible for maintaining training area and training equipment in optimal conditions.
- Follow standard procedures for Process Changes.
- Develop and Support new projects, engineering changes and new technologies. (New equipments, consumables, etc.)
- Assess training needs for new projects.
- Manage Cost Center's budget.
- Request and Approve purchase of weld equipment, consumables and spare parts.."
- Develop RFQ for all welding equipment on SPX system.
- Monitor welding consumable's expenses (weld wire, mixed gas, tips, etc.).
- Maintain 5s on cabinets and work area.
- Develop and support ESS initiatives.
- Support and Implement MOS practices.
- Answer and react to line calls: Based on escalation policy (problem escalation to the engineers)"
Non-conformance Yellow Seal Process: (Batch & Hold)
- ICA/Containment Audit: (Batch & Hold -Assembly)
- Cut & Etch Validation Process (recuts)
- ICA (following up on immediate corrective actions)
- Make sure outside repair has the suspect window
- Product inspection check practices (NP-UPAS-GAP checks/Preventive reteach/ tic sheets/Feedback)
- Make sure the team has what they need
- Corrective actions follow up (quick report) with the FRT
- Support and lead the problem solving execution
- Assure corrective actions implementation across the lines
ACADEMICS AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA
Minimum Two (2) years of College Education or 5 years of Manufacturing Supervision Experience
Excellent Computer skills: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word – Microsoft Suite Proficiency
Proved Team Leader experience (minimum 3 years) required
Union experience preferred
Automotive or industrial experience required
Experience as a welding in automotive or industrial (minimum 2 years) required
