About The Role
Social Media Manager, DANG Location: Remote
Working Hours: (Pacific Time Zone)
Type: Full-time About the Role
We're looking for a Social Media Manager to run the marketing engine behind The Learning Lounge and the wider DANG ecosystem. Leadership defines the marketing objective — you own how it comes to life: the channel strategy, the calendar, the creative briefs, the posts, and the growth numbers behind them. Growth is the single word that defines this job.
You'll directly manage all our social accounts, brief our editors and designers, and treat every post as a test: gauge what's working, do more of it, kill what isn't. This is a hands-on operator role with real ownership — built for someone who lives inside the platforms and thinks in hooks, saves, and retention curves, not just "likes."
This is a remote position, but the role runs on Pacific Time core hours to stay in sync with the rest of the team for daily standups, brief reviews, and real-time content decisions. A Day in This Role
Check overnight performance across platforms; flag any post that's over- or under-performing against its hypothesis
Review the content calendar and adjust upcoming posts based on what's working this week
Write or refine short-form briefs for editors/designers, with clear hooks, references, and deadlines
Run engagement passes on live posts — replies, pinned comments, community management
Sync with the longform producer on YouTube packaging using the latest performance data
Close the day by logging results against hypotheses so the weekly report writes itself
What You'll Own
- Growth
Own follower, reach, and watch-time growth across every platform (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and others as relevant)
Every post ships with a hypothesis and a metric attached — you're not posting blind
Run structured tests on hooks, thumbnails, captions, and timing
Review what won each week and rebalance effort toward what's actually growing
Translate leadership's marketing objectives into concrete channel and platform strategy: what content leads where, at what cadence, and why
Bring informed points of view to strategy conversations on where the next unit of effort should go across DANG's content engines 2. The Machine (Operations)
Maintain the living content calendar: cadence, guest rotation, cultural-moment pegs, launch weeks
Run the flagship accounts day-to-day, plus the clipping-account system, to spec
Write short-form briefs and direct editors/designers against them
Keep production on track: scheduling, platform-native adaptation, captions, platform-specific copy in DANG's brand voice, hashtags, and collab tags
Continuously generate fresh ideas for formats, series, and growth plays
Partner with DANG's longform producer and designer on YouTube packaging (titles, thumbnails, descriptions) by feeding them performance data 3. Engagement + Reporting
Treat engagement — replies, pinned comments, and each account's daily "algorithm-training" routine — as an active growth lever, not an afterthought
Deliver a weekly one-page growth report to leadership covering: what grew, what got killed, and what's being scaled up What We're Looking For
Must-haves A proven, demonstrable growth track record on short-form platforms and YouTube (be ready to show numbers)
Deep platform fluency — you know the algorithms, current formats, and what changed this month, not last year An experimenter's mindset: you think in hypotheses, tests, numbers, and iteration cycles
Experience writing creative briefs and directing editors or designers to a deadline
Strong copy instincts, with the discipline to execute inside DANG's established brand voice rather than reinventing it
Excellent organizational skills: calendars, trackers, deadlines — nothing falls through the cracks A self-starter mentality that thrives in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments and ships daily Nice-to-haves
Experience managing a clipping/repurposing content system
Familiarity with analytics tools (native platform insights, Social Blade, TubeBuddy, etc.)
Background in brand, creative, or consultancy environments
Experience working with longform video producers on packaging strategy How You'll Be Measured
Follower, reach, and watch-time growth across all managed platforms
Consistency and quality of the weekly growth report
Speed and clarity of creative briefs (editor/designer feedback loop)
Calendar adherence and on-time content delivery
Engagement rate trends on owned accounts Logistics
Location: Fully remote | Los Angeles, California, United States
