Patient Care Technician, Student Work Program - 3rd Medical Acute - Vineland

About The Role
MAJOR FUNCTION
The Patient Care Technician takes direction from the registered nurse. The main functions are to maintains a safe, clean environment in patient rooms and service areas, assists licensed personnel with basic patient needs and monitoring health and vital signs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Qualified candidates must meet one of the following:
- Previous experience as a nurse aide/residential aide/patient aide with experience in supporting patients' activities of daily living and vital signs.
- Completion of a nurse aide, multi-skilled tech or patient care tech course(s).
- Completion of one clinical semester in an LPN/RN program
Work Requirements
- 6 months – 1-year experience preferred
- Must be enrolled in College Level classes
- This position is a per-diem, non-benefit eligible position which requires employees to work a minimum of 32 hours in a 6-month period between January 1 and June 28 and July 1 and December 31.
- There is 1 weekend shift required during each period.
- Education and Training does not count towards my periodic work commitment
Certification/Licensure
- Current American Heart Association BLS required.
- Welle Training (computer and classroom) within six months of hire.
- Certified Nurse's Aide license or Patient Care Technician certification preferred.
