About The Role

Responsible for leading and coordinating Bapco Tazweed's security management activities across all operational locations. The role ensures effective implementation of security policies, access control systems, CCTV surveillance, incident management, emergency response preparedness, and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements. The Senior Security Officer provides technical guidance on security matters, manages investigations of security incidents, liaises with external authorities, and supports the protection of Company personnel, assets, facilities, and reputation.

Key Result Areas

  • Lead and conduct security risk assessments, inspections, and audits across Company facilities and service stations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and security management systems.
  • Monitor and supervise CCTV systems, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, and related security technologies.
  • Investigate security incidents, theft, vandalism, breaches, and other security-related events to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate security records and statistics.
  • Coordinate with the General Directorate of Civil Defense (GDCD), Police Directorate, Traffic Directorate, and other regulatory authorities on security-related matters.
  • Manage contractor and visitor access control processes to ensure compliance with Company security requirements.
  • Support business continuity planning and emergency preparedness programs.
  • Act as Security Incident Commander or designated response coordinator during security emergencies.
  • Conduct security awareness campaigns, inductions, drills, and training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Lead security-related investigations and support disciplinary processes whenever required.
  • Monitor compliance with company security standards and recommend improvements to mitigate emerging threats.
  • Participate in HSSE meetings, Management of Change (MOC), risk assessments, emergency exercises, and operational reviews.
  • Support loss prevention initiatives and asset protection programs.
  • Prepare security KPIs, monthly reports, performance analysis, and management presentations.
  • Coordinate maintenance and testing activities for security equipment and systems.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and technical guidance to Security Officers and site personnel.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure closure of security-related findings and recommendations.

Communications and Working Relationships

  • Coordinate with all departments on security matters, investigations, emergency preparedness, and compliance requirements.
  • Advise management on security risks, mitigation measures, and security improvement initiatives.
  • Support HR and line management regarding security investigations and personnel security matters.
  • Prepare periodic reports, presentations, and recommendations for management review.
  • Liaise with General Directorate of Civil Defense (GDCD), Police Directorate, Traffic Directorate, municipalities, regulatory authorities, and security service providers.
  • Coordinate with contractors and security system vendors regarding maintenance and performance requirements.
  • Represent the Company in external security meetings and official discussions as authorized by management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in security management, Engineering, Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Criminology, or related discipline.
  • Professional certifications are preferred, such as:
  • ASIS CPP (Certified Protection Professional)
  • PSP (Physical Security Professional)
  • NEBOSH
  • IOSH
  • Other recognized security or risk management certifications.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience , including security operations within oil & gas, petrochemical, industrial, aviation, utilities, or similar high-risk sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Physical security systems.
  • CCTV systems and analytics.
  • Access control systems.
  • Security investigations.
  • Emergency response and crisis management.
  • Threat and vulnerability assessments.
  • Security auditing techniques.
  • Familiarity with Bahrain security regulations and applicable security standards.
  • Excellent report writing and investigation skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple security activities and coordinate emergency situations effectively.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic language proficiency is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and security reporting systems.
  • Valid Bahrain driving license and willingness to travel across Company locations.
  • Demonstrates integrity, discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism in handling sensitive security information.
