We are looking for a commercial Legal Counsel to support the contracts team and the wider business across APAC and global stakeholders. This is a hands-on, business-facing role for someone who combines strong legal judgment with a pragmatic, collaborative and solution-oriented approach.

What will you be doing?

  • Draft, review, analyse and negotiate commercial agreements, including merchant agreements, processor agreements, amendments, NDAs, novation agreements and guarantees.
  • Provide practical legal support on legal commercial contract matters for the business.
  • Partner with legal colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders on product, regulatory and compliance topics.
  • Create and improve templates, policies and procedures to support scale, consistency and efficiency across the legal function.
  • Identify automation opportunities to simplify workflows and strengthen the way legal support is delivered to the business.

What skills do you need?

  • 5+ years of post-qualification experience, ideally from a top law firm and/or in-house within financial services, fintech or M&A-heavy environments.
  • Strong background in commercial, contractual and corporate law.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to identify legal and business risks, apply sound judgment and offer pragmatic solutions.
  • Comfort working with multiple stakeholders across regions, time zones and functions.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt quickly to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in payments, fintech, financial services or online businesses.
  • Exposure to cross-border legal matters and international stakeholder management.
  • Experience improving legal templates, processes or legal operational efficiency.
