Position Summary

• Responsible for transporting biological specimens and supplies between SIH entities and contracted clients.

Principal Accountabilities

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent

Licenses and Certification

• Current Illinois Drivers License

Experience and Skills

• Technical Experience: N/A

Physical Activities

• Intermittent hand manipulation required
• Intermittent lifting and carrying of 20 pounds

Role Specific Responsibilities

• o Picks-up specimens from SIH entities and transport to appropriate facility.
• o Ensures specimens are handled appropriately, and are not compromised in shipping.
• o Handles all infectious materials according to safe handling guidelines (OSHA, IATA and CDC).
• o Distributes supplies to clients.
• o Monitors the quality of specimens.
• o Maintains tracking system for transported specimens.
• o Maintains the company vehicle to ensure that vehicle is in safe operating condition.
• o Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
• o Attends departmental and other meetings as necessary.
