About The Role

The Student Conduct and Ethical Development Intern is a student leader who supports the mission of the University of South Florida and Student Conduct and Ethical Development. The intern’s primary responsibility is to assist with campus outreach, educational programming, and student engagement related to the USF Student Code of Conduct, the student conduct process, Title IX, ethical decision-making, and resources available to USF students.

Through this position, the intern will gain practical experience in student affairs, confidentiality, educational programming, marketing, event planning, professional communication, and university administration.

Expectations and Responsibilities

The Student Conduct Intern will

  • Work approximately 15–20 hours per week.
  • Be available to serve from Fall 2026 through Spring 2027. (Minimum requirement)
  • Maintain effective and ongoing communication with SCED professional staff, student employees, and campus partners.
  • Participate in required training, weekly team meetings, individual supervision meetings, and other scheduled meetings.
  • Assist with general administrative and operational tasks as appropriate.
  • Work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative and the ability to complete projects independently.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and professional demeanor when interacting with students, university personnel, and campus guests.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding student information and office operations.
  • Become familiar with relevant university policies, procedures, and student resources.
  • Provide general information and appropriate referrals to students seeking assistance.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource regarding SCED programs, services, and areas of responsibility.
  • Create and distribute educational and promotional materials, including flyers, handouts, presentations, videos, and digital content.
  • Develop and implement outreach initiatives that educate students about university expectations, ethical decision-making, and available resources.
  • Plan, host, and participate in educational tabling events, workshops, and campus programs.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of large-scale, campus-wide events.
  • Support the management and development of SCED social media content.
  • Help review, revise, and update website content and educational resources.
  • Assist with assessing outreach efforts and identifying opportunities to improve student engagement.
  • Complete special projects and other relevant duties as assigned.

Applicants must

  • Be a currently enrolled, full-time University of South Florida student.
  • Be eligible to receive Federal Work-Study funding.
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
  • Have no active student conduct sanctions.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, organization, professionalism, and interpersonal skills.
  • Be available to work during morning and afternoon hours, with occasional evening or weekend hours depending on scheduled programs and events.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who have

  • An interest in student affairs, higher education, student conduct, law, criminal justice, or a related field.
  • Experience maintaining confidentiality in a regulated environment.
  • Experience creating marketing, promotional, or educational materials.
  • Familiarity with graphic design, marketing, or content-development software.
  • Previous experience working as part of a committee, organization, or team.
  • Experience planning, coordinating, or hosting events.
  • Experience managing social media platforms or creating digital content.
