Research & Information Integrity Specialist (AI Verification Specialist)

Genesis Analytics · Remote, South Africa

Operations ManagementEntry LevelRemoteExternal listingfull-time5 days ago

About The Role

We are pioneering a highly efficient, AI-accelerated consulting workflow. We utilize advanced AI models to perform rapid market research, competitive intelligence, and synthesis. We are seeking a meticulous, highly skeptical, and detail-oriented Research & Information Integrity Specialist to serve as the ultimate line of defense for our data.

In this role, you will not be writing high-level strategies; instead, you will be dissecting AI-generated research briefs, hunting down primary sources, verifying statistics, and ensuring that every single claim, data point, and chart we present to our clients is 100% accurate and verifiable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source Verification: Audit AI-generated research reports to trace all statistics, market sizes, historical facts, and case studies back to their primary sources (e.g., company reports, academic journals, official government databases).
  • Hallucination Hunting: Identify and correct AI "hallucinations," outdated data, or logical inconsistencies in draft deliverables.
  • Data Quality Control: Cross-reference market growth projections, and competitive landscapes across multiple reputable databases (e.g., IMF, World Bank, National Authorities).
  • Audit Trail Maintenance: Create and maintain a clear "source map" or citation index for every client deliverable, allowing consultants to confidently present findings.
  • Methodology Evaluation: Assess the credibility of third-party sources used by the AI, flag biased data, and suggest more reputable alternatives where necessary.
  • Degree: Bachelor degree in Library / Information Science, Journalism, History, Law/Paralegal Studies, or a highly research-intensive field.
  • Experience: 2 years of professional experience in fact-checking, legal research, investigative journalism, or academic publishing.
  • Skepticism as a Superpower: A natural disposition to double-check "obvious" facts and a relentless drive to find the original source of truth.
  • Tech Savviness: Familiarity with LLMs (Gemini, ChatGPT) and an understanding of how they generate and sometimes misrepresent information.
  • Tool Proficiency: Experience using advanced research databases (LexisNexis, Google Scholar, Statista) and Boolean search operators.
  • The opportunity to work at the cutting edge of AI-human collaboration in business.
  • A highly structured, intellectually stimulating environment where your precision is the most valued asset in the room.
  • Flexible/hybrid working arrangements.
  • Working directly with senior research leads and consultants
