Job Summary
As an Electrician Renewables at Primoris Services Corporation, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems specifically within renewable energy projects, primarily solar and wind farms. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes, safety protocols, and the unique demands of renewable energy infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, conduit, equipment, and fixtures within solar arrays, wind turbines, and associated balance of plant systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams to determine wiring layouts and equipment placement.
- Perform testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems to diagnose and resolve malfunctions.
- Connect power to various renewable energy components, including inverters, transformers, substations, and monitoring equipment.
- Ensure all electrical installations comply with relevant local, state, and federal electrical codes (e.g., NEC) and safety standards.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on electrical systems to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and system performance.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, participating in safety meetings and training.
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent vocational training.
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license preferred; Master Electrician license a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a qualified electrician, with at least 1-2 years specifically in renewable energy (solar PV or wind preferred).
- Demonstrated knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant electrical safety standards.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Experience with various electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, megohmmeters, clamp meters).
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
