The Bartender is responsible for creating exceptional and engaging beverage experiences that elevate the vibrant atmosphere of Stratos Restaurant. Combining technical skill with creativity and personality, you will craft high-quality drinks, entertain guests, and deliver seamless, memorable moments that reflect the energy and hospitality of Avani Windhoek Hotel & Casino. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver attentive, professional, and engaging service, creating a welcoming and memorable guest experience.
• Showcase authentic hospitality while maintaining Avani service standards.
• Proactively engage guests, make recommendations, and support upselling opportunities.
• Prepare and serve beverages, including cocktails, in line with the Avani Beverage Manual and standard measures.
• Ensure accuracy and efficiency in order preparation, maintaining correct sequencing and timely delivery.
• Consistently uphold quality, presentation, and taste standards.
• Set up the bar for service, ensuring availability of liquor, glassware, garnishes, ice, and mixers.
• Maintain an organised and efficient workstation to support smooth service flow.
• Ensure the bar is never left unattended without proper handover.
• Receive and check stock against requisitions, reporting any discrepancies immediately.
• Monitor usage and support effective stock control practices.
• Adhere to all SOPs, hygiene, health & safety, and sanitation standards, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain high levels of cleanliness across the bar area at all times.
• Conduct opening, during-service, and closing cleaning, including counters, floors, glassware, bins, and ice wells.
• Take ownership of personal presentation and work environment standards.

What We’re Looking For

• Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
• Proven experience as a Bartender in a restaurant, bar, or hotel environment
• Strong knowledge of cocktail preparation, mixology techniques, and bar operations
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic stock control
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
• Creative and detail-oriented, with a flair for beverage presentation
• Energetic and engaging, able to create a lively and welcoming atmosphere
• Naturally entertaining, with confidence in guest interaction
• Passion for live bartending, with flair bartending skills considered a strong advantage
• Professional, reliable, and a strong team player
