Foodstuffs Own Brands is part of the wider Foodstuffs whānau, operating as a national team across both North and South Island co-operatives. We develop and manage a portfolio of more than 4,500 private brand products, working closely with our co-op, stores, and supply partners to deliver what New Zealanders want and need.

Te Tūranga – About the role

In this role, you'll lead creative ideation and design direction across our private brand packaging portfolio, while also supporting campaign, brand and communications activity.

You'll play a key role in shaping how our brands show up for customers, helping deliver creative work that is clear, consistent and commercially effective.

Key responsibilities include

• Leading creative concepts and design direction across the private brand portfolio
• Providing clear creative recommendations to influence final design decisions
• Mentoring and supporting designers to lift creative quality and consistency
• Collaborating with internal teams and external partners
• Maintaining and evolving brand guidelines and design standards
• Championing creative excellence across all brand touchpoints
• Supporting studio workflow improvements to increase speed to market

• We’re looking for a creative thinker who enjoys working collaboratively and delivering high-quality design at pace.

You’ll bring

5+ years’ experience in graphic design across multiple brands and media

Strong portfolio experience (ideally within FMCG packaging), with an understanding of how design translates from concept through to production

Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (especially with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)

Excellent communication skills and the confidence to present ideas clearly

Strong attention to detail and time management skills

A collaborative approach, balanced with the ability to work independently

Curiosity, initiative, and a drive to continuously improve
