Tax Business Analyst / Implementation Specialist

About The Role

Your responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, gather, and document business requirements related to tax processes, with a primary focus on global indirect tax requirements
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and design documentation for technical teams
  • Translate business challenges into practical technology solutions, including automation of data processing, reporting, and workflow optimization using tools such as Excel macros, Power Query, and system integrations
  • Support the implementation, configuration, and testing of tax technology solutions
  • Perform data analysis and mapping to ensure data quality, technical fit, and accurate indirect tax determination and reporting within tax technology platforms
  • Analyze existing tax processes, workflows, and systems to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement
  • Create and maintain tax technology documentation, including user manuals, process documentation, and training materials
  • Assess the impact of changes in tax legislation, business transactions, and value flows on existing technology solutions and identify new technology requirements where needed.

Must have: 

  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability. Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects or specific implementation area with limited supervision
  • 1-3 years of experience as business analyst or implementation specialist in tax or ERP area and proven track record of involvement in relevant projects
  • ​​​​​​​Basic knowledge of tax compliance requirements with focus on VAT process. Ability to identify and understand business processes and implementation challenges related to new IT solutions
  • Strong analytical capabilities for effective data interpretation and process improvement
  • Experience with data integration and data mapping - including data structured formats
  • Advanced MS Excel and good knowledge in tax technologies (such as SQL, XML, Power Query)
  • Fluent in English. Any additional foreign language will be a plus. 

Nice to have: 

  • SAP knowledge and configuration experience
  • Experience implementing or working with tax reporting tools (such as Oracle, Thomson Reuters, Avalara) and/or tax engines will be considered a strong asset. Background in tax multinational implementation projects is particularly welcome
  • Experience with robotic process automation (RPA) tools or AI methodologies
  • Practical experience in using AI tools (e.g. Copilot, Gemini Enterprise) to support data analysis, documentation, or process automation
  • Experience with VBA in Excel to automate data processing.   
  • Readiness and availability for office visits in Szczecin.
