Responsibilities

GENERAL PURPOSE

Serves as a cornerstone for ensuring high-quality patient care delivery in an inpatient setting. By providing expert clinical guidance and fostering a culture of excellence, this position significantly impacts patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams, advocating for best practices and adherence to standards while promoting a nurturing environment for professional growth among nursing staff.

FT position available, D/N, 12-hour shifts, weekends, holidays and on-call per CRN requirement

The Clinical Resource Nurse is an essential clinical support position, assisting with bed management and care delivery for the most critically ill and complex patient populations within the ED, G16, and OBS. This fast-paced and challenging environment requires candidates to demonstrate strong communication, prioritization, and leadership skills. The ideal candidate should be flexible and able to remain levelheaded in stressful and/or critical situations, having the ability to quickly adapt to change and use critical thinking skills to problem solve. Main job responsibilities include coordination of patient flow/bed placement, working with ED leadership and hospital leadership to coordinate resources to manage operational issues, acting as a clinical liaison to ensure open communication and collaboration between multiple service lines within the ED and throughout the entire institution. Responding to codes, trauma level activations, MI alerts, Stroke Alerts, Rapid Responses (of admitted boarders in ED/G16/OBS) and MERTS throughout the hospital. Responsible for providing 24/7 leadership coverage and assistance, serving as the “go-to” as an educational resource and staff support. Requirements: BSN, 3-5 years of critical care and/or emergency medicine experience, excellent communication skills, and an active New York State RN license in good standing. Specialty certification/advanced competencies (CEN, CCRN, TCRN, ATCN, ABLS, etc) and previous leadership experience preferred but not required.
