Work Shift

Position Summary

The APP-Ambulatory (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) functions as an integral part of the healthcare team. Serves various roles, including working directly alongside faculty and staff, providing care to the entire spectrum of patient acuity levels, working semi-autonomously and serving as a provider to initiate appropriate care, including laboratory studies and/or imaging as indicated, at the front end of a patient's visit. The APP-Ambulatory works in the ambulatory/clinic setting only.

Position Requirements

If Nurse Practitioner - Master's Degree in Nursing. Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and equivalent body. Currently licensed in the state of Georgia and/or South Carolina (depending on job location) as an advanced practice nurse by the State's Board of Nursing. Advanced Certification in the specialized area if required. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS). Must be fully credentialed by AUHS Credentialing Office to work.

OR

If Physician's Assistant - Graduated from an accredited Physician's Assistant program. Certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Currently licensed in the state of Georgia and/or South Carolina (depending on job location) to practice medicine through the State's Composite Medical Board. Must maintain status as a certified PA, including completion of all requirements for continuing medical education and re-cert. Advanced Certification in the specialized area if required. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS). Must be fully credentialed by AUHS Credentialing Office to work.

Preferred Requirements

National specialty certification is applicable to the area of practice. Previous experience working in a hospital or urgent care setting
