[Keppel Internship Programme 2027] Intern, UX/UI (Jan - May 2027)

About The Role
Keppel is a leading global asset manager and operator with strong capabilities in energy & environment, urban development and connectivity, creating solutions for a sustainable future.
The intern will be responsible in the following
- Design and prototype user experiences across consumer-facing platforms (web/mobile) and enterprise/internal systems (admin portals, dashboards)
- Support user research and usability testing (e.g. interviews, observations, testing sessions) to understand user needs, motivations and pain points
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers and designers to iterate solutions and ensure alignment with technical feasibility
- UX Designer track: Translate user insights into user flows, wireframes and visual concepts
- UX Engineer track: Support prototyping, UI behaviours, or component-based implementation (where applicable)
- Explore AI-assisted design and prototyping tools where appropriate, with guidance from the team
Learning Outcomes
- Gain hands-on experience working on real product features or workflows in an IT and digital product environment
- Develop capability in understanding user behaviour and translating insights into intuitive design solutions
- Learn how design, engineering and product collaborate to deliver user-facing and enterprise systems
- Build familiarity with modern tools, including AI-assisted design workflows, and understand responsible usage
- Receive structured mentorship, feedback and exposure to design critique practices
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Pursuing a diploma/degree in either creative disciplines (e.g. Industrial Design, Product Design, Visual Communication, Media, Fine Arts) or technical disciplines (e.g. Computer Science, • Information Systems, Software Engineering)
- Strong curiosity about users, behaviours and motivations, with interest in solving real-world problems
- Comfortable engaging users (e.g. interviews, testing) and translating ideas into tangible outputs (sketches, flows, or prototypes)
- For UX Designer track: familiarity with design tools such as Figma (academic or self-taught acceptable)
- For UX Engineer track: interest in front-end development, prototyping, or design systems (basic coding knowledge is a plus)
- Interest in AI tools, digital products and emerging technologies, with willingness to learn
