About The Role

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Reporting

  • Prepare financial statements with commentary.
  • Conduct General Ledger (GL) reconciliations.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Compile supporting schedules for month-end reviews.
  • Approve all journal entries.

Accounts Payable & Tax Management

  • Process invoices and book expense accruals.
  • Maintain expense accrual schedules.
  • Reconcile bank transactions and vendor accounts.
  • Manage tax-related matters, including Withholding Tax (WHT), Value Added Tax (VAT), and Corporate Income Tax (CIT).
  • Handle prepayments and ensure accurate tax filings.

Revenue & Accounts Receivables

  • Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely collections.
  • Oversee revenue recognition processes.
  • Handle intercompany accounting transactions.
  • Manage customer advance receipts and amortization.

Inventory & Fixed Assets Management

  • Maintain inventory accounting, valuation, and reporting.
  • Monitor and report inventory movements and adjustments.
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting, valuation, and recognition.
  • Ensure proper monitoring and reporting of fixed assets

SUPERVISORY ROLES

INTERNAL RELATIONS

  • Coordinate with all departments to obtain accurate and timely data for financial reporting.

EXTERNAL RELATIONS

  • Maintain contacts with company’s clients, Auditors, Ghana Revenue Authority, Banks and other financial statutory organizations.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR ASSETS

  • Responsible for protection, conservation and efficient utilization of all ASSETS including computers and cash assigned to the department.

COMPETENCIES

Educational & Experience Required

  • A university degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting related field from a reputable university.
  • A professional qualification in Accounting (ACCA, ICAG, CIMA etc.)
  • Minimum of 2-5 years working experience.

TECHNICAL

  • Knowledge of the Ghana and French tax laws
  • Ability to understand accounting concepts, principles and systems.
  • Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements for management.
  • Sound knowledge of Ghana company’s code.
  • Ability to prepare Fixed Assets and Inventory Reports.
  • Solid understanding of financial and accounting principles, systems and techniques.
  • Knowledge of International Accounting Standards such as IFRS, IAS, etc.
  • Ability to design and implement financial processes and systems.
  • Readiness to Travel to different locations.
