About The Role
Role Overview
This role sits within the Global Sales PMO and is designed for an individual who can champion AI adoption while also contributing as an active member of the project management team. Working closely with the PMO, Renewals, and other Sales teams, the individual will promote the use of corporate AI tools across the PMO team, sales projects and Renewals and Strategic revenue teams to improve productivity, simplify processes, and reduce manual effort. This role is equivalent to a Junior Project Manager position and is best suited to someone with a genuine interest in AI tools and a passion for delivering AI-related projects that create value for the business.
As a core Sales PMO project specialist, the person, visibly leveraging AI to do so and showing colleagues and stakeholders how to do it. To be successful in this role, this person should be naturally curious, comfortable taking initiative without formal authority, and confident building relationships with people across teams to influence a broader application of AI across the business.
Who This Role Works With
- Sales PMO — reports to the PMO manager; works alongside Project Coordinators & Project Managers
- Renewals team — the Global Renewals Manager and the Renewals specialists
- Global Maintenance & Support function — owns legacy, extended support, restricted support and end-of-life programmes
- Regional Strategic Revenue specialist teams
- Various stakeholder of the PMO (.i.e. line of business owners whom the PMO is delivering projects with).
Tasks & Responsibilities
AI Adoption
- Partner with the Sales PMO and Renewals teams, championing the adoption of AI-powered solutions to streamline day-to-day workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve operational efficiency across key business processes. Using corporate AI tools visibly in your own day-to-day work, be ready to show colleagues exactly how you did something — this is a “show, don't tell” role.
- Design, build, and implement AI-driven solutions and automations using tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and related platforms to address specific business and operational challenges.
- Develop and maintain reusable prompts, templates, AI agents, and automated workflows to support key PMO and Renewals activities, including project reporting, data consolidation, document creation.
- Run short, informal show-and-tell sessions or drop-in clinics with PMO, Renewals and Legacy/Support teams to demonstrate new use cases and answer “how would I use this for X” questions.
- Assess emerging AI tools and capabilities, conduct proof-of-concept evaluations, and recommend practical solutions that deliver measurable business value.
- Spot manual, repetitive tasks across the teams you work with and bring back a specific AI-assisted way to do them faster — backed by your own worked example, not just a suggestion.
- Keep a simple running log of adoption wins (time saved, tasks simplified) to build the business case for further investment.
Project Delivery
- Establish AI and automation best practice in the Sales PMO, and actively champion leading with AI and automation approaches to delivery sales PMO projects into the business.
- Apply established project management and PMO practices — project planning, RAID logs, governance, status reporting, and stakeholder management — across both AI initiatives and broader PMO workstreams.
- Contribute directly to core PMO activities alongside AI work: maintaining project plans and trackers, monitoring deliverables and dependencies, preparing status and steering reports, and coordinating across cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders across the business to plan, coordinate, and deliver strategic and operational projects.
What Good Looks Like — First 6 Months
- At least 10 reusable prompts or templates published and in active use by someone outside your own work.
- At least 6 show-and-tell or clinic sessions delivered across PMO, Renewals and Legacy/Support.
- At least 8 documented examples of a manual task now done faster with AI, each with a rough time-saved estimate.
- Project trackers and RAID logs for your assigned initiatives are consistently up to date with no chasing required.
- Specific, positive feedback from at least two of the teams listed above on a tool or workflow you introduced.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in AI, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- Sound understanding of project management concepts and PMO ways of working, with the ability to plan, run, and govern initiatives through to delivery; familiarity with sales, renewals, or revenue processes is an advantage.
- Strong working knowledge of modern AI and generative-AI tools, with hands-on proficiency in Claude and Microsoft Copilot, and a solid grasp of prompt engineering and AI agents.
- Working knowledge of automation platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power Automate / Power Platform) and integration concepts such as APIs and connectors — this is an influence role, not a development role.
- Strong proficiency across the Microsoft 365 suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook).
- A genuine process-improvement mindset — able to map workflows, spot inefficiencies, and redesign better ways of working using AI, then deliver those changes as managed projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to translate between technical possibilities and business needs.
- Self-starter who can work independently, run multiple initiatives in parallel, and drive change across teams.
- Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP / PRINCE2), AI, automation, or the Microsoft Power Platform are an advantage. 
Experience
- 2–3 years of professional experience in roles such as project/PMO analyst, process analyst, automation specialist, or AI / digital adoption.
- Demonstrable experience planning, coordinating, and delivering projects or initiatives — managing scope, timelines, stakeholders, and risks to a successful outcome.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience using AI tools — particularly Claude and Microsoft Copilot — to solve real business problems and deliver working automations.
- Proven track record of identifying manual processes and successfully automating or streamlining them, with quantifiable results (time and effort saved).
- Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders — ideally including project management and/or sales teams — to gather requirements and drive adoption.
- Experience delivering adoption, training, or change-management activities that help teams adopt new tools and ways of working.
- Exposure to a fast-paced, global, or matrixed organization is highly desirable.
