About The Role

POSITION SUMMARY

The PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System) Applications Analyst III is a business specialist and technology generalist responsible for aligning technology solutions with business strategies. The PACS Applications Analyst III is responsible for proactively identifying opportunities to apply technologies to business processes by informing and advising customers on information system technologies' functionality, costs, benefits, and implementation requ irements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Functions as technical liaison and broker of services with various vendors.
  • Must develop and maintain credibility and effective working relations with both customer management and IT personnel.
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of business problems, as well as IT strategies, issues, and p riorities.
  • Requires forward-thinking individuals who seek opportunities to apply technology to improving business processes within strategic system goals.
  • Must be competent to perform and integrate work at a high level within this job family and work at an in-depth level within the technical and clinical areas.
  • Responsible for the design, build, installation, integration, data migration, testing, support, and core functions for several imaging IT systems.
  • Responsible for maintaining operations and capable of leading systems upgrades to the PACS, as well as the system archive and workstations throughout the BMC systems.
  • Monitors software and hardware related issues, to include disk space allocation, device configuration, and back-up system; assesses department needs; troubleshoots hardware and software problem s.
  • Works closely with clinical staff and analysts in workflow optimization, issue resolution, and system implementations and upgrades.
  • Provides end-user training, as needed.
  • Fosters and cultivates physician and vendor relationships and develops policies for imaging applicati ons.
  • May need to travel between campuses and community partners to perform duties.
  • Participates in rotating on-call support.
  • System Administration: Proficiently manage and maintain Sectra IDS7 PACs and other radiology-related systems.
  • Tr oubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve issues with radiology systems promptly to ensure uninterrupted workflow. Perform regular system maintenance, updat es, and optimizations.
  • Integration and Configuration: Implement and configure DICOM Modality setups, ensuring seamless communication and compatibility between various radiological devices and systems.
  • Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with radiologists, technicians, and other staff to understand system needs. Provide training and support to end-users to maximize system utilization and efficiency.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and compliance standards. Ensure adherence to healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Provide support to assigned customers in defining or designing business processes and identifying enabling technologies based on customer requirements.
  • Ability to be a team player; flexible, friendly, congenial, and enthusiastic.
  • Actively seek ways to apply technology to business processes, researching and providing information on techn ical trends and competitors’ practices relevant to the assigned client business; Assess near-term needs, utilizing structured interview processes to establish business prioritie s.
  • Consult with t echnical subject matter experts and develop alternative technical solutions; advise on options, risks, costs versus benefi ts, and impact on other business processes and system prio rities; Coordinate multi-system solutions to clarify interdependencies (and interfaces) so that systems appear seamless to customers.
  • Align with other IT functional areas to remain apprised of project status and inform customer mana gement of progress.
  • Con versely, keep the IT group’s technology and service managers aware of user issues and potential potholes o r resolve co nflicts; Diagnose, analyze, and resolve software issues independently or by engaging the appropriate parties to achieve a resolution.
  • Document all aspects of the project plans (scope, definition, testing, delivery, and support) and coordinate business/clinical and IT implementation resources for successful delivery.
  • Actively participate in the team environment and enable colleagues to fulfill the depa rtment’s operating objectives.
  • Conducts business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost versus benefit measurements; brokers other IT services; and communicates trends and requirements to and from customers and IT.
  • Responsible for proactively identifying opportunities to apply technologies to business processes. Informs and advises customers on information system technologies’ functionality, costs, benefits, and implementation requirements.
  • Participate in an on-call customer support rotation during normal business hours and off hours.
  • Perform other duties as a ssigned or necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 4+ years relevant experience in either of the following:
  • Business systems analysis, preferably across multiple hardware and software platforms or
  • Business unit experience that includes working closely with IT in the development and implementation of systems or
  • Experience working as a Radiology technologist.
  • Additional experience desired:
  • Sectra and Epic knowledge.

Additional experience desired

  • Previous experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement is desirable, involving broad-based information systems and utilizing tools and techniques to effect business change.
  • Experience in the strategic use of technology in managing and growing a business.
  • Experience in organizin g, planning, and executing projects from vision through implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors.
  • DICOM and HL7 knowledge is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Knowledge of the assigned business area’s products and processes.
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that is understandable to the business.
  • Understanding of project management concepts in planning and implementing multiple projects in a cross function al environment.
  • Strong written communication skills, including project documentation and technical writing.
  • Strong verbal communication skills while interacting with team members, other teams in the IT department, end users, and/or other departments throughout the organization.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills; a demonstrated track record in new concept developme nt for various projects and complex technical plans.
  • Ability to solve problems often spanning multiple environments in a busines s area.
  • Understanding of how IT affects an organization and ability to link it to redesigned business process.
  • Ability to be a team player; flexible, friendly, congenial, and enthusiast ic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Compensation Range

$89,500.00- $130,000.00 This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
