Job Description

Job Summary

Responsible for providing massage-based physical evaluations of assigned patients and clients. Applies a range of appropriate therapeutic treatments, including manual massage therapy. Develops and implements individualized therapeutic massage treatment plans. Ensures effective delivery of care to promote patient well-being and recovery.

Essential Functions

  • Applies physical evaluation techniques to assess patient condition.
  • Develops individualized treatment plans based on clinical data and protocols.
  • Performs manual therapy and therapeutic interventions as indicated.
  • Operates therapeutic devices for various treatment modalities.
  • Documents therapy and maintains patient confidentiality in accordance with policies.
  • Provides education to patients, families, clinicians, and the community.
  • Collaborates with team members and other departments to ensure quality care.
  • Supports compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Reports and evaluates equipment issues and participates in equipment assessment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirement

High school diploma or equivalent and vocational/technical training in a designated technical area

Experience Requirement

  • 0–2 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • All experience must be paid and in the same related field.
  • Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.
  • Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.

Physical Demands

This position requires regular standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; regular performance of tasks with repetitive motions (such as massage techniques); intermittent lifting, pushing, and/or pulling of objects weighing up to 50 pounds; intermittent standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; intermittent risk of back injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and occasional sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time. Also involves occasional risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; occasional exposure to temperature extremes, hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, bloodborne or airborne pathogens, and interaction with combative or violent people.
