Job Title: Tier 1 SOC Analyst

Location: On-Site, Washington, DC

Required Certification(s): Security + or equivalent certification is required. (Equivalent certification covers similar level of information security domains or depth of knowledge and or experience.)

Job Description

We are looking for a Tier 1 SOC Analyst. The Tier 1 SOC Analyst provides frontline monitoring and triage of security events across the organization’s networks, endpoints, and cloud environments. This role is responsible for reviewing SIEM alerts, performing initial investigation, reducing false positives, and escalating confirmed incidents according to established playbooks. Analysts maintain continuous situational awareness, document findings accurately, and support the broader incident response process by ensuring timely detection and proper handoff of threats to Tier 2 and Tier 3 teams.

Education and Background

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT related disciplines

Required Skills

  • Provides initial and continuous monitoring of automated systems designed to detect and alert on potential cyber incidents.
  • Creates tickets to track issues and closes false positives as results are confirmed.
  • Provides basic investigation and mitigation actions as well as Incident Response support.
  • Experience reviewing and triaging SIEM alerts.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity and networking fundamentals.
  • Ability to analyze logs and identify suspicious activity. Familiarity with endpoint/security tools (e.g., CrowdStrike, Defender).
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.

Working Conditions

  • On-site in Washington, D.C. 4/5 times a week.
  • 1:30p - 11:30p, Sunday - Wednesday
