Position Overview The Senior Executive – UK Tax is responsible for delivering high ‑ quality UK individual tax compliance and advisory services. This role includes preparing and reviewing UK Self ‑ Assessment Tax Returns, managing complex tax computations, and leading communication with HMRC and clients. The position requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to guide junior team members, and the capability to identify tax planning opportunities while ensuring full compliance with evolving UK tax legislation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities UK Tax Compliance & Review Preparing and submitting UK Individual Self ‑ Assessment Tax Returns within statutory deadlines. Conducting detailed tax computations and ensuring accurate tax liability calculations. Performing initial and secondary reviews of tax returns prepared by junior team members to ensure technical accuracy and quality standards. Tax Advisory & Planning Advising clients on strategies to minimize their UK tax liabilities within legal frameworks. Identifying issues, preparing well ‑ structured client queries, and recommending suitable tax planning solutions. Supporting clients in financial planning related to their tax positions. Client & HMRC Interaction Liaising and negotiating with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on behalf of clients for assessments, enquiries, refunds, and clarifications. Maintaining strong working relationships with clients through timely communication and professional guidance. Documentation & Information Management Monitoring and updating client information, including work status, tax documents, personal data, and compliance requirements. Preparing clear work papers and documentation to support tax filings and internal reviews. Technical Research & Legislative Awareness Researching and interpreting changes in UK and international tax legislation and HMRC guidance. Applying updated tax laws and revenue provisions to client work and internal processes. Preparing technical notes and sharing updates with the team where relevant. Team Support & Collaboration Supporting new team members with training, queries, and best practices. Ensuring adherence to internal procedures and compliance frameworks. Collaborating with cross ‑ functional teams to meet project deadlines and deliver high ‑ quality work. Customer – Customer Satisfaction, Associate Retention and Attraction Financial – Reduced cost-to-serve/optimization, Profitability improvement Operational – Defined Structure, Improved Employee Value Proposition People – Higher associate engagement, lower attrition Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Commerce , Accounting, Finance, or related field 2-4+ years of experience Experience interacting with HMRC Strong knowledge of UK income tax rules and HMRC processes Knowledge of relevant source documents and schedules. Worked on UK SA100 and Canada T1 individual tax returns. Clear and effective verbal and written communication. Ability to adapt to evolving job roles and responsibilities. Knowledge of Taxcalc , DIGITA, IRIS, CCH , t axfiler etc. Shift Timing 12:30 PM IST - 22:00 PM IST (Indian Summers) 01:30 PM IST - 23:00 PM IST (Indian Winters)
