Position Overview The Sr. Executive – UK Charity Accounts is responsible for preparing charity statutory accounts under FRS (SORP) , supporting independent examinations , and managing fund accounting, disclosures, and compliance with Charity Commission requirements .The role includes preparation of SOFA, balance sheet, notes, working papers, and handling client communication. Strong understanding of restricted/unrestricted funds, SORP disclosures, and charity reporting frameworks is essential. . Essential Duties and Responsibilities a. Charity Accounts Preparation i. Prepare statutory accounts for charities in line with Charity SORP per FRS ii. Prepare and review: SOFA (Statement of Financial Activities), Balance Sheet, Notes to accounts, etc iii. Ensure proper classification of restricted, unrestricted, and designated funds iv. Draft Trustees’ Report in line with regulatory expectations b. Independent Examination Support i. Prepare complete IE working papers with supporting schedules ii. Provide supporting documentation for: Income, expenditure, Bank reconciliations, Grants and commitments, etc iii. Assist in resolving examiner queries and ensure smooth completion c. Fund Accounting & Disclosures i. Maintain fund-wise tracking and movement schedules ii. Ensure compliance with key disclosures: Related party transactions, Trustee remuneration, Grants payable/receivable, Reserves policy, etc iii. Support preparation of financial statements disclosures per SORP d. Charity Compliance & Filings i. Support Charity Commission filings (accounts & annual returns) ii. Ensure alignment with Charity Commission data (trustees, funds, activities) iii. Review compliance with governing documents e. Year-End & Working Papers i. Prepare year-end schedules for: Bank, debtors, creditors, accruals, Restricted fund reconciliation, etc ii. Ensure audit/IE-ready documentation with proper referencing f. Income, Grants & Costs Analysis i. Review income streams (donations, grants, Gift Aid) ii. Validate grant agreements and commitments iii. Ensure appropriate classification of support vs governance costs g. VAT & Basic Compliance (If applicable) i. Basic understanding of VAT applicability for charities ii. Identify non-business vs taxable activities Key Success Measures · Client – Client Satisfaction, Associate Retention and Attraction · Financial – Reduced cost-to-serve/optimization, Profitability improvement · Operational – Defined Structure, Improved Employee Value Proposition · People – Higher associate engagement, lower attrition Education, Skills & Experience · Strong knowledge of Charity SORP and IE requirements · Experience in charity accounts preparation / independent examination support · Understanding of fund accounting (restricted/unrestricted funds) · Familiarity with Charity Commission reporting requirements Shift timings 12:30 PM to 10:00 PM IST (Indian Summers) 01:30 PM to 11:00 PM IST (Indian Winters)
