About The Role
Job Purpose
The Payer Account Team Lead will be responsible for leading the engagement with U.S. GPOs, PBMs, payers, and IDNs to ensure timely and sustainable access for sonelokimab. This role will help drive pre- and post-approval payer strategies, support value proposition development, and serve as the primary external-facing contact with priority payer accounts.
Your profile
Major Accountabilities
Pre-Launch (FDA -24 to 0 months)
Payer mapping
Map and prioritize key payer and channel accounts (GPOs, PBMs, national / regional payers, government entities, IDNs)
Engagement strategy
Execute U.S. payer engagement strategy in alignment with overall market access and pricing strategy
IC
Implement incentives and compensation plan for access account team
PIE engagement
Lead compliant Pre-approval Information Exchange (PIE) discussions with selected payers
Operational input
Cross-functional input based on intelligence gathered from payer discussions
- Access strategy incl. formulary positioning and pricing at a payer level
- Payer value proposition, PIE decks and AMCP dossiers
- Contracting strategy incl. key terms / requirements and deal analytics
Leadership
Account team build-up and management (incl. performance)
Launch & Post-Approval (FDA approval to 6 - 12 months post)
Continued engagement
Lead or support formulary review meetings and pull-through strategy with GPOs, commercial plans and PBMs
Coverage tracking
Track payer policy development, formulary tiers, and utilization management criteria and work with cross-functional teams (FRMs, sales) to communicate current coverage
Operational input
Partner with Pricing/Contracting to support and execute rebate agreements as needed
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Advanced degree (MSc, MBA, PhD, PharmD, or MD) strongly preferred
Experience
- 10+ years of U.S. Market Access or Payer Account experience
- Senior relationship with at least 1 of the big 3 accounts
- Experience with product launches in specialty or rare disease preferred
Skills/knowledge/behavioural competencies
- Deep knowledge of the U.S. payer landscape (commercial, government, PBMs, IDNs)
- Familiarity with PIE, AMCP dossier standards, and compliant payer interactions
- Strategic mindset to give input into pricing & contracting strategy, payer value prop, etc.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and external engagement skills
