About The Role

As the Finance BP at ByteDance and a member of the Global Finance team, you will play a critical role in driving the company’s continued success across the global markets. This position is based in our San Jose office. In this role, you will serve as a strategic partner to key global monetization businesses, providing valuable insights to support business decision-making. You’ll be an integral part of the finance team, collaborating closely with other finance business partners and cross-functional teams across the organization.

  • Lead the financial planning process for global monetization products: develop both short-term and long-term budget plans, monitor performance against budget, provide trend analysis to business leaders, and update financial forecasts on a regular basis.
  • Deliver strategic financial insights and actionable recommendations to senior leadership to support key business decisions.
  • Prepare and communicate clear, data-driven financial reports to senior management and other key stakeholders across the region.
  • Analyze regional financial performance and propose improvement initiatives to both headquarters and regional leadership.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure financial strategies are aligned with overall company objectives and market-specific goals.
  • Streamline and optimize daily financial processes to enhance operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualification(s)

  • 5+ years of Finance BP or equivalent work experience in online advertising, content, media, or tech industry.

  • Hard skills: data processing, financial modeling, and financial analysis.
  • Soft skills: great communication skills, strong logical reasoning, and critical thinking.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful financial strategies.
  • High levels of written and oral fluency in Mandarin are required for this role. This is essential as the collaboration with China-based stakeholders is necessary to ensure local financial strategy aligns seamlessly with Group objectives, manage core financial systems, and safeguard capital allocation through cross-border contract review.

Preferred Qualification(s)

  • Experienced in working across multiple locations and time zones within global organizations.
  • Proven experience in complex financial planning and analysis, with a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end financial processes and full P&L management, is strongly preferred.
