Desk Engineer - Operation-Dolvi

DCS/Control Room Operation

Continuously monitor steam pressure, temperature, drum water levels, and exhaust gas flows through the control desk interface.

Startup & Shutdown

Execute safe, standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cold, warm, and hot start-ups, as well as planned or emergency shutdowns.

Parameter Optimization

Adjust fuel feed (supplementary firing), draft openings, and feed-water controls to maximize boiler efficiency.

Emergency Handling

Respond swiftly to critical alarms, such as high/low drum levels, tube leaks, or trips in auxiliary equipment (fans, feed pumps, and valves).

Field Coordination

Communicate and direct field operators to inspect equipment, verify readings, or perform manual valve operations.

Logkeeping & Reporting

Document operational logs, meter readings, fuel consumption, and water chemistry test results.

Compliance & Safety

Enforce strict adherence to plant safety protocols and statutory boiler regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a B.E./B.Tech degree.

Technical Skills

Strong working knowledge of DCS/PLC systems, reviewing interlock and protection logics, and steam-water thermodynamic cycles.
