About The Role
OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE To lead and manage the organization's lease administration, legal documentation, landlord relationship management, branch/property-related litigation matters, security deposit recovery, and legal compliance activities related to the Corporate Real Estate & Administration function. Ensuring Compliance fulfilment for all Admin related government & Regulatory requirements related to company premises. The role will work closely with the Corporate Legal Team, business stakeholders, landlords, and external legal counsels to ensure legal risk mitigation, timely closure of property-related matters, and smooth administration of the organization's real estate portfolio. Detailed Responsibilities Lease Management Draft, review, negotiate and execute lease agreements, leave & license agreements, addendums, renewals, amendments and surrender agreements for offices and branches. Ensure legal and commercial risks are appropriately addressed in all property documents. Manage lease renewals, lock-in clauses, escalations, notices, terminations and related obligations. Coordinate with internal stakeholders for timely approvals and execution. Landlord Management Act as the single point of contact for key landlords across the organization. Manage landlord negotiations related to rentals, CAM charges, escalations, deposits, exits and dispute resolution. Develop and maintain strong landlord relationships to ensure business continuity and favorable commercial outcomes. Litigation & Legal Matter Management Track and manage all property-related litigation, arbitration, notices and legal disputes. Coordinate with internal legal team and external advocates for timely filing, hearings and case closures. Maintain litigation records, legal trackers and management updates. Ensure resolution of legal notices received from landlords, building societies and local authorities. Security Deposit Recovery & Exit Management Lead end-of-lease closure processes and ensure timely recovery of security deposits. Coordinate with landlords, regional administration teams and finance teams for settlement reconciliation. Resolve disputes concerning deductions and property handovers. Legal Coordination & Governance Work closely with the Corporate Legal Team on legal documentation, risk assessments and compliance requirements. Ensure property transactions comply with applicable laws, company policies and regulatory requirements. Develop standard templates and process controls for lease administration. Team Leadership Lead and mentor a team of 2–3 executives/managers. Drive performance management, capability building and process improvements. Establish strong MIS reporting and portfolio governance mechanisms. Postgraduate qualification in Law or Management will be preferred. Minimum 15+ years of experience in Corporate Real Estate Legal, Lease Administration, Property Documentation, Landlord Management and Litigation Coordination within large corporates, BFSI organizations, real estate companies or reputed institutions. Certifications Relevant certifications in Real Estate Laws, Contract Management or Arbitration shall be an added advantage. Other Skill Set Strong expertise in drafting and negotiating lease agreements and related legal documents. Thorough understanding of property laws, contract laws and lease administration practices. Experience in handling litigation trackers and coordinating with advocates. Strong negotiation and dispute resolution capabilities. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and senior leadership interactions. Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills. Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and MIS reporting. Demonstrated people management experience with teams of 2–3 members.
