Senior OpenShift Platform Engineer / OpenShift Administrator Experience: 5–10 Years Location: Mumbai Job Summary We are looking for a highly skilled OpenShift Platform Engineer with hands-on experience in managing and supporting Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) across On-Premises and Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA) environments. The candidate should possess strong expertise in OpenShift cluster administration, upgrades, disaster recovery, GitOps, platform automation, security compliance, and production support. Experience with IBM Power Systems (PPC Architecture) and OpenShift deployments on Power infrastructure will be considered a strong advantage. Key Responsibilities OpenShift Administration & BAU Operations • Manage and administer OpenShift clusters across On-Prem and ROSA environments. • Perform day-to-day BAU support, incident management, problem management, and troubleshooting. • Monitor cluster health, capacity, performance, and availability. • Manage worker nodes, Machine Sets, Ingress Controllers, Routes, Storage Classes, and Operators. • Support application onboarding and production deployments. • Troubleshoot platform, networking, storage, and container-related issues. OpenShift Upgrades & Lifecycle Management • Plan and execute OpenShift version upgrades and platform maintenance activities. • Perform pre-upgrade assessments, compatibility validation, and post-upgrade verification. • Manage OpenShift Operators and lifecycle management. • Coordinate with application teams during maintenance and upgrade windows. • Implement cluster hardening and platform best practices. ROSA (Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS) • Manage ROSA clusters and associated AWS infrastructure. • Experience with: o VPCs o Route53 o Load Balancers o IAM Roles o Security Groups o EBS/EFS Storage • Support OpenShift networking and connectivity integrations within AWS. • Work with cloud teams on scalability, security, and operational improvements. GitOps & Automation • Hands-on experience with Argo CD. • Implement GitOps-based deployment strategies. • Manage application synchronization, rollout, rollback, and drift detection. • Integrate GitOps pipelines with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab. Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity • Design and support OpenShift DR architecture and processes. • Perform DR drills, failover, and failback testing. • Support backup and restore procedures using OpenShift and storage-native solutions. • Maintain DR documentation and operational runbooks. Security, Compliance & Audit • Implement OpenShift security and compliance standards. • Manage: o RBAC o SCCs o Network Policies o Certificates o Secrets Management • Support vulnerability remediation and image scanning activities. • Prepare and provide audit evidence for internal and external audits. • Participate in compliance activities and platform hardening initiatives. Platform Monitoring & Observability • Manage OpenShift monitoring stack. • Troubleshoot alerts and performance issues. • Experience with: o Prometheus o Grafana o Alert Manager o Loki / EFK Logging Stack • Support proactive capacity and utilization management. Audit & Compliance Responsibilities • Maintain audit-ready documentation for OpenShift environments. • Support security reviews and platform compliance assessments. • Ensure adherence to industry and organizational security standards. • Participate in audit remediation and closure activities. • Validate compliance for cluster configurations, RBAC, logging, monitoring, and platform hardening controls.
