About The Role
Job Summary : The GOEM Operations and ME role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, quality, and manufacturing excellence across our GOEM partner network. This role requires a blend of strategic planning, deep operational knowledge in genset manufacturing, stringent quality management, and compliance adherence to meet the organization's ambitious Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and growth objectives. They will be the primary liaison between the organization and GOEMs, focusing on capacity planning, new product introduction, cost optimization, and ensuring statutory compliance. Strategic responsibilities: Statutory Compliance: Ensure and approve all statutory compliance requirements are met at GOEM sites (e.g., Genset ARAI / COP / Consent to Operate). Strategic Planning: Align GOEM operations and capacity with the organization's long-term strategic growth plans. Risk Management: Proactively identify operational and compliance risks within the GOEM network and develop mitigation strategies. Financial Responsibilities: Cost Optimization (VAVE): Drive VAVE initiatives at GOEMs to achieve product cost reductions and efficiency improvements without compromising quality. Costing Expertise: Possess deep-rooted knowledge of canopy/product costing to support negotiation and cost target setting. Benchmarking: Conduct competition benchmarking on operational and manufacturing practices to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement. Operational responsibilities: Manufacturing Excellence: Drive operational excellence initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) at GOEM sites to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency. Deploy and monitor best industrial practices and facilitate cross-learning between partner sites. Capacity Management: Support and coordinate GOEMs for new/existing plant expansion and capacity build-up to align with organizational AOP targets and demand forecasts. Product Realization: Oversee the genset manufacturing process from raw material to finished goods. Ensure "First Time Right" product delivery from GOEMs. New Product Introduction (NPI): Lead and coordinate new product development and validation activities at GOEM sites, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and timelines. Process Compliance & Audits: Check and enforce adherence to principle-laid guidelines for manufacturing processes at GOEMs. Conduct regular Plant assessments and site audits for improved Installation & Commissioning (I&C) processes, aiming to continuously improve the GOEM Health Card Score. Quality Management: Drive the implementation and adherence to Quality Management Systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 across the GOEM network. Technical Knowledge: Utilize basic understanding of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) / Windchill process to streamline product data management. People responsibilities: Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for GOEM partners, managing the relationship to foster collaborative and high-performing partnerships. Capability Building: Drive the deployment of best industrial practices and cross-learnings to elevate the operational maturity of GOEM teams. Coordination: Effectively coordinate internal and external teams (Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, GOEM partners) to achieve shared goals. Skills and competencies: Deep knowledge of genset manufacturing processes. Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001). Basic understanding of PLM / Windchill. Manufacturing excellence methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma). Plant assessment and auditing. Project management for NPI and capacity expansion. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder management and presenting complex data. Strong analytical skills for performance metrics, costing analysis, and competition benchmarking. High proficiency in PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and reporting. High degree of adaptability to dynamic operational environments. Willingness to undertake mandatory travel to GOEM sites.
