About The Role
Job Summary: The Certified Surgical Technician I-IV is a member of the surgical team working with physicians, nurses, and other surgical personnel in delivering quality patient care and assuming appropriate responsibilities before, during, and after surgery. Essential Job Functions Accountabilities: Performs basic patient care with consideration for age and developmental stage. Assists with patient care in a way that minimizes the risk of transfer of infection, and accidental contamination, and protects the patient from harm. Assists staff surgeons, residents, medical students, nursing students, and surgical technology students with all surgical procedures and instructs on maintaining a sterile field. Assists in monitoring adequate availability and stocking of supplies and equipment according to the established PAR level. Participates in the quality improvement process. Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures. Participates in the quality improvement process. Maintains all AORN and JCAHO standards at all times. Picks and assembles all cases for the same day and the next day. Ensures that all cases have the necessary equipment, implants, and special orders. Communicates to Team Leader regarding delays and add-on cases completed. Job description is not an all-inclusive list of duties and may be subject to change with or without notice.
