About The Role

The ByteDance Server Operations Team is responsible for the full lifecycle operation management and operational technical services of ByteDance's servers in China, delivering industry-leading server operation and maintenance services to businesses to ensure and drive their stable growth. Its job responsibilities cover areas including the introduction of new server products for operation and maintenance, operational adaptation such as operation and maintenance supervision, control and monitoring, online operation management, stability operation management, operation and maintenance management of servers in data centers, maintenance and repair, as well as the formulation of operational process specifications and the planning and construction of platform systems.

  • Responsible for online server stability assurance services, including planning and implementing stability process specifications, platform systems, assurance mechanisms and capabilities; oversee stability monitoring, risk identification, issue response and resolution, and production network operation assurance measures to ensure reliable service delivery.
  • Responsible for handling server-related stability incidents, including fault diagnosis and analysis, tracking and impact mitigation, and post-incident review.
  • Responsible for identifying server stability risks, covering server quality, operations and maintenance processes, and platform systems, and driving associated governance efforts.
  • Responsible for server alert monitoring and handling, as well as managing front-line BPO duty staff, summarizing duty records, and compiling weekly reports.
  • Participate in the development of server stability-related capabilities, including rapid recovery mechanisms, drill capabilities, GUI-based change operations, and major event support capabilities.
  • Participate in formulating process specifications related to server stability, and coordinate with upstream and downstream business teams to define and align relevant service SLOs.
  • Participate in the optimization of server monitoring and alerting, driving long-term governance of monitoring capabilities and improving alert quality and incident analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in a science or engineering discipline (Computer Science, Electronic Information Engineering, Automation, or related fields are preferred).
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to think critically, summarize effectively, and produce clear documentation.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail, with a collaborative mindset and a passion for the work; demonstrated learning agility and intellectual curiosity for new technologies, with outstanding problem-solving and hands-on capabilities; able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment and adapt to diverse work assignments.
  • Solid foundation in computer programming, with proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, C, C++, Python, Go).
  • Working knowledge of server hardware and Linux systems, with proficiency in Shell scripting.
