Responsibilities


 JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the review and proper adjudication of patient research bills in EPIC(Electronic Medical Record/EMR). Utilizes and understands the Medicare Coverage Analysis (MCA), as well as sponsor contract language to determine intricacies of research and routine care charges. Reviews Clinical Trial Management (CTMS) builds for accuracy against contract and budget at onset and upon amendment. Communicates with the Clinical Trials Business Operations (CTBO) team to resolve discrepancies with MCAs, contracts and CTMS builds. Weekly review and patient reconciliation from visits marked as completed in CTMS.

Reviews charges associated with Serious Adverse Events and communicates with the finance and CTBO teams, and billing compliance leads on resolution and payment.

Works with coordinating staff and the finance team to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure outside labs and scans are billed appropriately.

Facilitates communication between the Program and other HonorHealth departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Research patient billing adjudication reviewing the MCA, contract, and CTMS for validation. Evaluation of clinical research visits and reconciliation of billing accounts.
  • Validate CTMS builds by reviewing against the MCA and sponsor contract. Work with Clinical and Finance staff on bills which contain errors.
  • Miscellaneous projects as assigned by the lead research compliance team members and director of compliance.
  • Participate in educational events with compliance team members.
  • Fosters collaborative partnerships/relationships with all departments within HonorHealth Research Institute.

EDUCATION

  • Associates in healthcare area Required
  • Bachelors in healthcare area Preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years in clinical research experience Required
