Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Location: Cocoa Beach, FL

Starting Pay:$24.00/hour (Compensation may be higher based on experience.)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel CNC Equipment Operator to join a manufacturing team producing precision steel components. The ideal candidate has experience operating CNC cutting, drilling, or sawing equipment and is comfortable working with overhead cranes in a production environment.

This position offers the opportunity to work with specialized structural steel fabrication equipment while maintaining quality, accuracy, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC equipment for structural steel fabrication.
  • Select machine settings to ensure efficient and accurate production.
  • Measure materials and verify finished parts meet required specifications.
  • Select the correct material type, stock size, and dimensions for each job.
  • Mark parts and transfer production information to materials as required.
  • Operate overhead cranes and material handling systems to move steel safely.
  • Maintain accurate production and material usage records.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and assist with troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience operating a CNC plasma table or CNC equipment used for structural steel sawing, drilling, or cutting.
  • Experience with one or more of the following equipment:
  • Kinetic Plasma Table
  • Peddinghaus Saw/Drill Line
  • Peddinghaus Angle Master
  • Ficep Beamline
  • Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and material transfer systems.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16 inch .
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during the workday.
  • Ability to work in both hot and cold manufacturing environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, symbols, and production notes.
  • Experience using Tekla PowerFab .
  • Previous experience in a structural steel fabrication facility.
