About The Role

  1. Job Purpose

To provide independent, third-party quality and quantity assessment of non-ferrous commodities (concentrates, ores, refined metals) at a single facility. You will ensure that all material handling, weighing, and sampling processes adhere strictly to international standards (ISO/Internal SOP’s) and client-specific contractual requirements.

  1. Key Responsibilities
  • In-Process Inspection: Metal related bulk products at various stages of processing within the plant to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
  • Weight Verification: Supervise weighing operations at the facility's weighbridge or scales to verify exact cargo quantities for commercial settlement.
  • Sealing: Sealing “cargo containers” and keeping an accurate record.
  • Monitor: Physical tests, including moisture determination, screen (size) analysis, and density testing, to verify material conformance to standards.
  • Monitor sample Preparation: Processing of bulk samples in the on-site preparation area, including drying, crushing, and pulverizing, to create lab-ready laboratory samples.
  • Quality Control & Integrity: Properly label, seal, and store samples to maintain a clear chain of custody.
  • Laboratory samples: Packing and shipping of laboratory samples.
  • Reporting: Documenting of all findings in detailed daily reports. This includes recorded weights and daily WSMD activities.
  1. Professional Experience
  • Previous experience in similar or related activities within metals and minerals supply chains, would be a great plus.
  1. Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Education : High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training in chemistry or mineral processing is a plus.
  • Languages : ENG, excellent command of written and spoken English, focused on daily updates and the ability to fill out inspection logs and reports accurately.
  • Mobility : A valid driver’s license is a requirement (independent transport to reach the industrial site).

  • A "trained eye" for detail and the required assertiveness to lead an operation at the highest standard of excellence.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Integrity: Unwavering commitment to independent and accurate reporting, essential for third-party TIC services.
  1. Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Fixed Site : Work is performed entirely by the inspector at one industrial location (refinery, smelter, or port terminal).
  • Physical Demands: Capability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive motions, and handle material manually in an industrial environment.
  • Environment : Exposure to industrial noise, dust, and varied weather conditions as required by the sampling location.
  1. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
  • Compliance : Strictly adhere to all site-specific and company safety protocols, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • PPE Maintenance : Responsible for the daily inspection, proper use, and basic maintenance of all issued safety gear (e.g., high-visibility clothing, steel-toed boots, hard hat, respirator, and safety glasses). The employer will provide additional maintenance.
  • Provision : All required specialized PPE will be provided and maintained by the company through a local service provider. Making sure that all Bachelet personnel follow local, location and company regulations.
