About The Role
Role Purpose π The Lead PMP Manager is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and governance of Plant Modification Proposals (PMPs), ensuring modifications to plant and processes are controlled, safe, and compliant with Site Licence Conditions and SLP 1.02.14 requirements. π οΈ The role leads PMP delivery from initiation through to closeout, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement, integration with project controls, and adherence to safety, environmental, and design intent requirements. π₯ The successful candidate will oversee other PMP Managers delivering PMPs and will also deliver PMPs themselves β this is not solely an βauthoringβ role. Key Responsibilities π¨βπΌ Leadership & Management πΉ Lead and coordinate PMP Managers and support personnel where required. πΉ Provide direction on PMP prioritisation, workload, and lifecycle management. πΉ Ensure alignment with organisational governance, safety case requirements, and modification control processes. πΉ Act as the senior interface for PMP-related matters within projects, programmes, and the OU. π PMP Lifecycle Management πΉ Manage PMPs through their full lifecycle: π Authoring π§ Internal review π£οΈ Committee presentation and endorsement ποΈ Implementation oversight π€ Handover to operations β Closeout πΉ Ensure timely and compliant progression of all PMPs in line with site procedures. πΉ Maintain a structured PMP tracker and monitor progress against key milestones. πΉ Ensure effective preparation, implementation, and closeout of plant modifications with appropriate stakeholder engagement throughout. βοΈ Governance & Compliance πΉ Ensure compliance with: π Site Licence Condition 22 (control of modifications) π SLP 1.02.14 (Modification or experiment on existing plant) πΉ Conduct internal PMP reviews to ensure quality and completeness prior to submission. πΉ Ensure all required assessments, documentation, and SME inputs are captured. πΉ Support and ensure adherence to Configuration Change Control (CCC) process requirements. π€ Stakeholder & Interface Management πΉ Engage with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across engineering, safety case, environmental, and operations to support PMP development. πΉ Interface closely with: π€ PMP Coordinator π Project Managers and Construction Teams βοΈ Design and Engineering teams π‘οΈ Operations and Safety Case representatives πΉ Lead and present PMPs at committee and governance meetings. πΉ Demonstrate effective engagement with SMEs when specialist input is required. π Planning, Reporting & Controls πΉ Attend: π Weekly construction, design, and project meetings π Lead weekly PMP team meetings (tracker updates) π Lead weekly reporting meetings with line management ποΈ Monthly PMP governance / presentation meetings ποΈ Lead monthly planning meetings to update P6 programme πΉ Ensure PMP activities are reflected within the P6 schedule and aligned with project milestones. πΉ Provide clear status reporting, risk visibility, and recovery actions where required. β οΈ Risk, Safety & Assurance πΉ Ensure all modifications consider: π‘οΈ Safety case implications π± Environmental impacts βοΈ Design intent and plant performance πΉ Identify and escalate risks associated with plant modifications. πΉ Ensure safe implementation of modifications with no adverse impact on operations.
π§ Key Skills & Competencies πΉ Strong knowledge of PMP process and governance πΉ Understanding of nuclear / regulated environment compliance πΉ Experience managing plant modification lifecycle πΉ Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills πΉ Ability to interpret safety case and engineering requirements πΉ Competence in planning tools (e.g. P6) πΉ Leadership and team coordination capability πΉ Attention to detail and assurance mindset π Qualifications & Training Requirements β Essential πΉ Demonstrated experience in PMP management πΉ Completion of PMP-related training: π PMP Awareness (EL0114) π PMP Management & Categorisation (S0751F) π PMP Manager Training (MG0422) πΉ π± Environmental Awareness (EL0160) πΉ β οΈ COMAH Awareness (FB0060) π Additional Requirements πΉ Evidence of completing Configuration Change Control (CCC) e-learning πΉ Proven attendance and presentation at PMP committees πΉ Demonstrated experience managing PMP closeout πΉ Competence assessed through SQEP process with periodic reassessment πΉ Experience in successfully passing a PMP SQEP interview π― Key Accountabilities πΉ π‘οΈ Safe and compliant delivery of plant modifications πΉ π Effective lifecycle management of all assigned PMPs πΉ π Quality and completeness of PMP documentation and reviews πΉ π€ Stakeholder engagement and SME coordination πΉ βοΈ Adherence to governance and modification control processes π Behavioural Expectations πΉ π Proactive and structured approach to delivery πΉ πΌ Strong ownership and accountability πΉ π€ Collaborative approach with effective stakeholder engagement πΉ π§ Demonstrates sound judgement and escalation where required πΉ π Operates within defined limits of authority and competence
