About The Role

**Fully remote - LATAM**

**About the Role**

We are hiring a Technical Lead to lead the engineering effort for replatforming and evolving a suite of proprietary tools that power differentiated **eDiscovery** client delivery — spanning insight generation from large-scale data sets and mobile data review. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will be one of the primary builders; setting technical direction, establishing engineering standards, and driving execution while staying close to the code. You will work in close partnership with the Product Manager to translate vision into a working, scalable product, and will continue to own and grow the technical foundation as the suite expands.

**About the Team**

You will not only build products but help establish engineering excellence within a Risk Advisory practice spanning eDiscovery, digital forensics, and beyond — bridging startup-grade engineering craftsmanship with the rigor of a world-class advisory firm.

**What You’ll Do**

Lead engineering on the replatforming of a suite of eDiscovery tools — serving as the primary technical decision-maker on architecture, infrastructure, data modeling, and integrations.

Architect and build migration of an analytics tool from desktop to a modern web-based platform, including ingestion pipelines for email data (Reveal RDM) and mobile data (Cellebrite).

Drive the technical evolution of a document review tool from a platform-hosted experience to a standalone application integrating with Relativity via API, with a path to supporting additional review platforms.

Establish engineering foundations from scratch: CI/CD, testing infrastructure, deployment practices, coding standards, and security posture.

Partner with the Product Manager to sequence work, scope complexity, and surface trade-offs — ensuring architectural decisions serve both near-term delivery and long-term platform goals.

Build and grow the engineering team, hiring and mentoring engineers while cultivating a culture of craft and pragmatism.

**What We’re Looking For**

**Required**

10+ years of software engineering experience, with meaningful time spent in legal technology, eDiscovery, or adjacent compliance/investigations domains.

Deep, hands-on expertise with Relativity custom development: you have built custom applications, integrations, or workflows on Relativity — you know its data model, APIs, and review workflows inside out.

Proven ability to build from scratch: you have served as a founding or lead engineer on at least one greenfield product, making early architectural decisions that defined it for years.

Strong command of modern web application architecture — you can design and implement a scalable, full-stack application including cloud infrastructure, APIs, and data pipelines.

Experience designing large-scale data ingestion and processing pipelines, including handling schema variability, deduplication, and transformation at scale.

Startup mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, able to move quickly, and skilled at making pragmatic architectural decisions that balance speed with long-term soundness.

**Strongly Preferred**

Experience building integrations with Reveal (formerly Brainspace) or its RDM data processing platform.

Experience with Cellebrite exports or similar mobile forensic data — format variability, conversation threading, metadata complexity, and chain-of-custody considerations.

Experience leading a platform migration or technical debt reduction initiative — rebuilding the plane while keeping it in the air.

Hands-on experience with desktop-to-web migrations, including architectural patterns, performance considerations, and UX implications.

Experience working in or alongside an eDiscovery managed services or consulting practice, where end users are practitioners with high-stakes workflow needs.

**Nice to Have**

Familiarity with analytics or insight-generation techniques applied to unstructured legal data — NLP, clustering, entity extraction, or similar.

Experience building multi-tenant SaaS applications or transitioning single-tenant tools to a shared-infrastructure model.

Background in data security and chain-of-custody requirements within litigation or investigations contexts.

Experience introducing modern engineering practices (CI/CD, automated testing, observability) in organizations new to formal software development.

**Why This Role**

You will design a product’s technical foundation from the ground up — this is not incremental feature work on a mature codebase.

You will work at the intersection of cutting-edge data challenges (mobile forensics, large-scale document review) and

tooling that practitioners rely on in high-stakes matters every day.

You will build a platform and a team, not just a service — with a clear path to expanding the suite as the practice evolves.

You will bridge two worlds: the rigor and domain expertise of a top-tier consulting practice and the speed and craft of modern software engineering.
