### Accountabilities
The Patient Services Representative supports daily patient account operations by managing communications, investigating account details, and ensuring timely resolution of outstanding balances. Key responsibilities include:
- Answering incoming patient phone calls and responding to questions regarding account information and balances.
- Making outbound collection calls related to self-pay balances while maintaining a professional and empathetic approach.
- Conducting account investigations, researching information, and completing appropriate follow-up activities.
- Contacting relevant internal or external sources when additional information is needed to resolve patient concerns.
- Supporting patient service operations and completing additional administrative tasks as assigned.
## Requirements
The ideal candidate combines healthcare administrative experience with strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Required qualifications and skills include:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Three or more years of experience in a medical office environment, preferably within patient services, eligibility, billing, or related healthcare operations.
- Experience handling patient accounts, collections, and healthcare-related inquiries.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
