We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to design, build, and support enterprise-grade financial applications within a capital markets environment.
The role focuses on developing scalable, high-performance solutions that support critical trading, market data, and post-trade processes.
You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, product teams, and engineering professionals to deliver robust technology solutions.
This position requires strong backend development expertise combined with a deep understanding of financial systems and distributed architectures.
You will contribute to modernizing platforms through microservices, cloud-native technologies, automation, and engineering best practices.

### Accountabilities
The Senior Java Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise applications that support capital markets operations. The role requires strong technical ownership, problem-solving abilities, and collaboration across business and technology teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications supporting capital markets platforms.
- Build scalable microservices using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and distributed system architectures.
- Develop high-performance, low-latency applications supporting real-time trading workflows and market data processing.
- Collaborate with business analysts, traders, product owners, architects, and DevOps teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Integrate applications with exchanges, market data providers, order management systems, execution management systems, and third-party financial platforms.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and overall system efficiency.
- Participate in technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and code review processes.
- Implement secure coding practices and ensure applications meet financial industry standards and compliance requirements.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and deliver timely technical resolutions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, engineering standards, and development best practices.
- Mentor junior developers and support knowledge sharing across engineering teams.
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
## Requirements
The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in Java development and a strong background working with capital markets or investment banking technologies. The role requires expertise in enterprise software engineering, distributed systems, and modern development practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Java application development.
- 3+ years of experience working within Capital Markets or Investment Banking environments.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles, and engineering best practices.
- Experience building high-performance, distributed enterprise applications.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Java 8/11/17 and modern Java development practices.
- Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, and Hibernate.
- Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
- Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, JMS, and RabbitMQ.
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases including Oracle and PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB and Redis is preferred.
- Experience with build and version control tools including Maven, Gradle, and Git.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using tools such as Jenkins.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Experience working with Linux/Unix environments.
