### Accountabilities

As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for building robust systems, improving platform capabilities, and ensuring high-quality delivery across engineering initiatives.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and modern microservice architecture principles.
• Architect clean, modular solutions that support reliability, maintainability, and future growth.
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs and third-party service integrations.
• Design efficient database structures and optimize queries across relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, with exposure to NoSQL systems where relevant.
• Develop event-driven architectures using messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Implement caching strategies using technologies like Redis or Memcached to improve system performance and reduce latency.
• Contribute to distributed system design, ensuring solutions can support high availability, throughput, and concurrency.
• Analyze and optimize backend performance across APIs, databases, and infrastructure layers.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code through effective unit and integration testing practices.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, QA, DevOps, and other engineering stakeholders to deliver reliable features end-to-end.
• Take ownership of medium-to-large technical initiatives and contribute to improving engineering processes and execution.
• Support production stability through monitoring, debugging, and continuous improvement initiatives.

## Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong backend engineering expertise, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to independently deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.

• 2–4 years of hands-on backend development experience in a product-based company, preferably within SaaS or technology environments.
• Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, including MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ for asynchronous and event-driven systems.
• Experience implementing caching solutions using Redis, Memcached, or similar technologies.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including clean code practices, testing discipline, and scalable design principles.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems and work independently with ownership.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering and product teams.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development practices.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Exposure to observability tools, infrastructure automation, or cloud environments is beneficial.
• Interest in AI/ML-powered products or experience working with AI-integrated solutions is a plus.
• Experience in a high-growth startup environment is advantageous.
