### Accountabilities

The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining Ruby-based applications while contributing to scalable software solutions, backend improvements, and engineering excellence. The developer will collaborate with technical and business teams to deliver high-quality features and ensure system reliability.

• Design, build, and maintain Ruby applications and backend services using clean, efficient, and maintainable code practices.
• Develop and optimize RESTful APIs, integrations, and microservices-based architectures.
• Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Write and maintain automated tests using frameworks such as RSpec and Minitest to ensure application quality and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement timely solutions.
• Integrate third-party APIs and external services into existing platforms.
• Improve application performance by optimizing database queries and backend processes.
• Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and development best practices.

## Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong Ruby development expertise, backend engineering experience, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment. A strong understanding of software architecture, databases, testing, and modern development workflows is essential.

• 3+ years of professional experience developing applications with Ruby.
• Strong proficiency with Ruby on Rails and backend application development.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns.
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including writing efficient SQL queries.
• Knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience using Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong debugging, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
• Experience with background job processing tools such as Sidekiq, Resque, or Delayed Job is a plus.
• Familiarity with testing tools such as RSpec, Capybara, and FactoryBot is preferred.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices is a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and API integration platforms is beneficial.
