This role offers the opportunity to build and evolve a mission-critical mobile application used by thousands of field workers every day.

You will contribute to the architecture, user experience, and technical foundation of a sophisticated iOS platform supporting communication and productivity in the transportation industry.

As a senior engineer, you will have significant ownership over product decisions, technical direction, and the quality of features delivered to users.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams working across mobile, backend, and product areas in a fully distributed environment.

Accountabilities

As a Senior iOS Engineer, you will take ownership of the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of a large-scale native mobile application. You will contribute across the full development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation to testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization.

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality iOS applications using Swift and Objective-C.
  • Own significant product features and technical systems, contributing to application architecture, UI development, networking, and data persistence.
  • Translate product requirements into thoughtful technical solutions while identifying opportunities to improve user experience and product value.
  • Build and maintain intuitive user interfaces using UIKit and SwiftUI.
  • Manage application state, network requests, local data storage, and integrations with backend systems.
  • Write automated tests, including UI automation tests, to ensure application reliability and maintain a strong quality culture.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues involving asynchronous behavior, networking, device differences, performance bottlenecks, and memory usage.
  • Use tools such as Xcode Instruments, crash reporting systems, analytics platforms, and CI pipelines to monitor and improve application performance.
  • Collaborate closely with Android engineers, backend developers, QA specialists, and product partners to deliver impactful solutions.
  • Participate in technical discussions, challenge assumptions constructively, and help improve engineering practices across the team.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools responsibly while applying strong engineering judgment and maintaining ownership of delivered solutions.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a product-minded senior engineer with strong experience building native iOS applications and a passion for creating reliable, user-focused mobile experiences. You should be comfortable owning complex technical challenges, collaborating remotely, and contributing to both implementation and strategic decisions.

  • 4+ years of professional experience building or maintaining production iOS applications using Swift and Objective-C.
  • Proven experience owning substantial mobile features or technical systems from planning through release and ongoing support.
  • Strong proficiency with Xcode and iOS development workflows.
  • Experience building user interfaces with UIKit and SwiftUI.
  • Experience managing networking, application state, and data persistence using technologies such as Core Data or SQLite.
  • Ability to convert product requirements into technical approaches while considering usability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Experience writing automated tests, including UI automation testing.
  • Strong debugging skills, including diagnosing asynchronous issues, network problems, simulator/device differences, and production failures.
  • Experience using performance analysis tools such as Xcode Instruments.
  • Familiarity with crash reporting, logging, analytics, CI systems, and automated test environments.
  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to follow projects through implementation, testing, release, and customer feedback.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within Eastern, Central, or Mountain Time business hours.
  • Experience with AI-assisted software development workflows while maintaining technical judgment and accountability.
  • Nice-to-have experience includes Android development, JavaScript/TypeScript, C++, C, Rust, Zig, GIS, mapping, navigation, geofencing, document capture, barcode scanning, or accessibility-focused mobile improvements.
