  • This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Talent & Resource Manager based in South Africa.
  • We are seeking a commercially driven Talent & Resource Manager to lead technology talent acquisition, resource planning, and client growth initiatives.
  • This role combines business development, technology recruitment, account management, and contractor lifecycle management in a dynamic technology environment.
  • You will play a key role in building strong client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and connecting organizations with highly skilled technology professionals.
  • The position requires a balance of strategic thinking, recruitment expertise, and commercial ownership to grow talent solutions and staffing operations.
  • You will manage the full talent journey, from understanding client needs and sourcing candidates to onboarding resources and maintaining long-term partnerships.
  • Working closely with technology teams and business stakeholders, you will contribute directly to expanding talent capabilities and delivering successful outcomes.

Accountabilities

  • Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities requiring technology contractors, staff augmentation teams, or permanent technology talent.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of Talent Solutions opportunities and contribute to revenue, placement, and profitability targets.
  • Develop relationships with technology leaders, procurement teams, HR stakeholders, and business decision-makers.
  • Grow existing client accounts by identifying additional resource needs and expansion opportunities.
  • Prepare proposals, rate cards, commercial submissions, and support client negotiations.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and commercial discussions.
  • Manage the complete technology recruitment lifecycle, from requirement gathering to successful placement.
  • Source, assess, and interview candidates across software engineering, cloud, DevOps, QA, product, and delivery disciplines.
  • Coordinate candidate interviews, support selection processes, negotiate offers, and manage start-date discussions.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of technology professionals through direct sourcing channels and professional platforms.
  • Develop relationships with specialist talent partners and external sourcing networks when required.
  • Manage contractor and staff augmentation engagements from onboarding through renewal or offboarding.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with consultants and clients to monitor satisfaction, performance, and potential risks.
  • Track contracts, renewals, availability, notice periods, and resource planning requirements.
  • Support issue resolution between clients and resources in collaboration with leadership teams.
  • Coordinate commercial documentation, including agreements, statements of work, renewals, and contract-related information.
  • Maintain accurate records of placements, rates, margins, contracts, and commercial reporting.
  • Collaborate with finance and management teams to support invoicing, renewals, and profitability management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in technology recruitment, staffing, talent solutions, or similar fields.
  • Proven experience managing a 360-degree recruitment function or developing new client relationships.
  • Demonstrated success achieving placement, revenue, or gross-profit targets.
  • Experience recruiting for software development, digital product engineering, technology consulting, or similar roles.
  • Experience managing contractors, staff augmentation projects, or professional services resources.
  • Strong understanding of modern software delivery teams and technical roles, including areas such as:
  • Software Engineering.
  • Cloud.
  • DevOps.
  • Quality Assurance.
  • Product Management.
  • Delivery.
  • Strong client relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience using direct sourcing techniques through platforms such as LinkedIn, GitHub, and other professional networks.
  • Experience working with applicant tracking systems, recruitment platforms, or CRM tools.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and drive business growth.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across business development, recruitment, and resource management activities.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and results-oriented approach.
  • Comfortable engaging with senior client stakeholders and managing commercial conversations.
  • A qualification in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Psychology, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Experience in general recruitment without technology recruitment exposure will not be considered.
